Jon Burns

Born in Manchester in 1981 and moved with his family to Chichester in 1990. Educated at Chichester High School for Boys and then Brunel University in London. Has worked for The Daily Telegraph, HM Inspectorate of Prisons and later for a public affairs consultancy in Westminster. Moved to Cardiff in 2003 to work for the Welsh Conservatives Health Spokesman in the National Assembly. He was elected as one of the youngest County Councillors in Cardiff in 2004 and is a member of the South Wales Fire Authority.

The main themes of his campaign were:

• Time to tackle anti-social behaviour.

• We need more recycling facilities for Blaenau Gwent.

• Protect and improve our NHS.
