David Roberts
A 48 year old community centre manager who lives in the constituency. Contested Leicester South in 1983 as the candidate of the Workers Party. Joined the Socialist Labour Party in 1996 and contested Leicester West in 1997 and Leicester South in 2001. Contested Rushey Mead ward in the Leicester City Council elections of 2003.
The main themes of his campaign were:
Bring the troops home from Iraq.
Get Britain out of the European Union.
Fight against cutbacks in local services.
