ERIS and the Malawi Electoral Support Network (MESN) have just carried out a training workshop series on Election Standards and Principles. The two-day trainings took place in Blantyre (2-3 December), Mzuzu (5-6 December) and Lilongwe (8-9 December).
The ERIS trainer was Mr Leandro Nagore and the MESN trainer was Aloisious Nthenda. They were attended by 102 participants drawn from civil society organisations participating inthe MESN network, and included 14 representatives of the Malawi Elections Commission.
The training course is designed to provide participants with substantial understanding and information to pass on within their own organisations and as part of their ongoing activities. This training series will be followed by workshops on Election Best Practice and Issue-Based Civic Education in January and February respectively.
